Your 6 week program
This program will give you clear focus in 6 key subject areas. Each class carefully designed to give you solid technique fundamentals that with practice will give you confidence, clarity and focus. This is not just about learning new moves, it’s about seeking out the devil in the details and how making slight adjustments in your technique which will drastically transform your dancing!
Connection & Frame
Connection and frame are the pillars of good dance technique, without them your dancing is disconnected chaos (imagine driving a car without steering or any sense of direction!) In Week 1 you will have some fun learning
the intricacies of what makes a proficient leader and follower.
Mastering your Basics
A juicy deep-dive into the techniques involved in your basic fundamentals in Salsa shines & partnerwork. Explore the secrets of what makes the perfect basic step, suzy q, cross body lead, open break and more! We want you to ask all the questions, we’re ready!
Body Movement Mechanics
Let’s work from the ground up. It is imperative as a dancer that you understand the mechanics of where movement comes from. This week you will take home some incredible exercises to improve your posture, isolations and alignment.
Perfect Partnership
How can you find that elusive, holy grail connection with your dance partner? Learn the secret sauce of what creates beautiful 50/50 balanced unisons within partnerships. Hot tip: it’s not just about how many moves you have!
Turn & Spin Control
If the idea of turns & spins make you feel nauseous, we’re here to help you! Learn the technique behind what makes up a balanced, easy turn or multiple spins. Drill exercises in spot technique, frame & posture, and learn to access your secret power source.
Music & Sabor Deep Dive
You can have all the technique and dance moves in the world, but without connection to the music and authentic flavour in your dancing, then you are just a robot dancing. Let’s play with the music and find the inner Salsero/Salsera in you that wants to be unleashed!

This is what you’re going to see
Take what you learn in class home, practice and master it! As an LEC member you’ll also have access to our unique school class videos and all of our library of content.

This program is open to both On1 & On2 Salsa dancers. You can dance either style within the program, it does not matter.

No partner required. We will maintain equal lead & follow spots in the program, but if you know someone who would make a good partner, encourage them to join you!

We do not allow casual attendance, you must attend all six sessions. Each week incorporates elements from previous weeks.

To join this program it is expected that you have been taking regular Salsa classes for at least 6 months. This is not a beginner program, it is for improver-intermediate plus dancers.

Not at all. This program is open to all improver-intermediate dancers. It is a perfect introduction to what LEC can offer you as a dancer.
It is not expected that you know any of the LEC terminology or syllabus to attend. -
Something light and comfortable. We recommend active wear so you can move freely. Dance shoes highly recommended but not compulsory. Bring a towel and water bottle too and get ready to work.

LEC is located right near the North Melbourne train station. There is also street parking available on Abbotsford street and many surrounding streets.
